The bone collector is a dark mystery/thriller. The film is based on a novel written by Jeffery Deaver. I haven’t read the book but I’ve seen the movie and I can’t understand why the age limit is 18. That’s way high!
The story is about a detective named Lincoln Rhyme (played by Denzel Washington). He is from New York city and when a murderer is on the loose on the streets of Manhattan, chaos is spreading all over the city.
The murderer is leaving trails where he kills his victims and it’s Lincoln’s job to track him down. That’s when the policewoman, Amelia Donaghy comes in, (played by Angelina Jolie). Her job is to help Lincoln to find the assassin.
Every day that goes, the danger of being killed gets bigger. The murderer kills people just like in a book. He uses the same plot and the same techniques. The detectives doesn’t understand this until the last victim is killed and then it’s too late. The damage is already done and there is no sign of the slayer that’s gone. I wont reveal the end, because then it wouldn’t be fun to see it.
If I would recommend this film to anyone, I would say youth and older people. This isn’t a “scary” film, but it’s a film that gives you the creeps. The film haven’t got so many good reviews but I think this is an good movie after all. If you are sitting in the dark with warm tea in your hand and when it’s raining outside this could be a right film for that setting. It gets you in a mood ,that you don’t get from all movies. The film hadn’t been so good if it wasn’t for the good actors. Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie plays an important part and gives the film a extra something.
Lincoln and Amelia.
