Some people say that English is easy language to learn, but some people may not agree, some people that it is rich in vocabulary, and it is widespred. English became spread by the British Empire. By the 19th century, Britain had the world`s largest military power. The Pilgrim Fathers saild from England to America, by taking with them. In the time of waves of immigration to America, many English spoken people went to America. Then English went into Carribean and over to Canada.
English is now widely spoken in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, The Pacific and in South-East Asia. The British Empire do not exist, but English is still spoken. It is because of the economic power that keeps it at the top. The British Empire has sent English everywhere, but it was American super-power that has kept it. English has also borrowed and given many words from other languages.
