Ligamester for Monaco 1999 – 00.

Jon Arne plays for Liverpool. His number is 18. The star spotter from Monaco came to a junior international match between Norway and Sweden. He was interested in John Arne and Tommy Øren from Sogndal, he recommended the franc club to by them. Tommy said no. But John Arne didn’t let that big chance go away.

When he was 17 he went to Monaco to be a professional fotbalplayer. His mother Berit Riise became his manager. She insisted that John Arne should have 10% of what Monaco paid for him so became 1 million richer. Many didn’t think he was going to make it in the tough football world but John Arne became a high respected football player from the beginning. 25th aug. 1998 he debutated in the French league he was just 18 years. 

Three years later he plays in Premier League. He is just 21 years but he has been franch leaguamester, played in Champions League and Uefa cup. He plays also on the Norwegian international team.  In February 2001 he stud on the list of world 100 biggest football talents it was only two Norwegian footballs players on the list, John Arne Riise an John Carew. Liverpool was reprencented with John Arne Riise, Michael Owen and Steven Gerrard. He was the only Liverpool player who played all league matches in 2002-2003 seasons.  World soccer says he is a real fighter. His became really famous when he make a goal from 35meters for Liverpool against Bordeaux. When he was 19 he was with on in the Norwegian international team in em in France. He was the youngest player on the team. His biggest dream is to be a professional fotball player in England. In 2000 Leeds showed interes to by him but they could not forth the price Monaco wanted for him.  He has been choosen to the player of the year of the supporters in Liverpool. He is just 22 years so who knows what the future is goanna take him?
